Since our recent move to Jackson to ‘house sit’ for someone, we’ve felt more and more responsibility concerning the lawlessness in our Capitol city, Jackson. While driving along a main street in Jackson BJ and I were discussing this and any initiatives that we needed to steward in this city. We began to notice that the traffic was moving along at 50 miles per hour, THE SPEED LIMIT! We try to drive according to the law of the land to dismantle the stronghold of lawlessness in our state, but this was unusual, ALL OF THE TRAFFIC WAS ABIDING BY THE LAW! Then we saw why. There, parked on the side of the street was a law enforcement officer. As we passed his vehicle we noticed that he was not looking at the traffic. He was just looking down, minding his business. You see, his presence brought about an atmosphere of lawfulness! The Lord spoke to our hearts that as we walk according to His law and His ways, we release His presence. We are children of the Light! His light dispels the darkness! We release His Kingdom where ever we go, because we are ambassadors of His Kingdom. Our presence (we are children of the Light) brings righteousness and justice and lawfulness.
Now back to our capitol city. As we are standing in the gap for this city, we are crying out for the stronghold of lawlessness and murder to be dismantled here. But the Lord spoke to our hearts that if we have hate in our hearts against any one, that is the same as murder! We are empowering this stronghold in this city if we are not walking in love toward all of our brothers and sisters! And every time we go over the speed limit, fail to obey any of the laws of the land we are empowering the lawless stronghold in this city. BUT when we come in the opposite spirit of lawfulness and brotherly love we dismantle the stronghold of murder in this city.
Can one man make a difference?
Eccles. 9:14-15 There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and beseiged it, and built great bulwarks against it: 15 Now there was found in it a poor wise man and by his wisdom delivered the city.
Roman 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 6:13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of rightousness to God.
Prov. 25:28 Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls.
Prov. 16:32 "He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city."
Remember as we worship with our lifestyle, and choose to praise him as we live our 'everday' lives, He is enthroned on our praises! As His throne comes to rest here, the foundation is rightousness and justice! We literally bring His presence into our atmosphere and dismantles the stronghold of the enemy!
1 Samuel 5:2-4 When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the temple of Dagon and set it by Dagon. 3 And when the people of Ashdod arose early in the morning, there was Dagon, fallen on its face to the earth before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and set it in its place again. 4 And when they arose early the next morning, there was Dagon, again fallen on its face to the ground before the ark of the Lord. The head of Dagon and both the palms of its hands were broken off on the threshold; only the torso of Dagon was left of it.
When the Philistines brought the Ark of the Covenant (the presence of Jehovah) into their temple, Dagon (their god) fell face down. When they put this idol back up, he fell again, breaking off his head and hands (authority and provision). As we usher in the presence of the Lord through our praise and worship as a lifestyle, the dagons of lawlessness fall, and are cut off at the root. Their authority is severed and the provision is gone.
LET’S TAKE THIS CITY FOR THE KINGDOM OF OUR GOD THROUGH OUR PRAISE, WORSHP, AND LIFESTYLE!
